Meet the Raleigh Manor Care Home team
Our home wouldn’t be what it is today without the wonderful team who have consistently put in hard work and dedication to deliver a high level of care to everyone we support. It is important that our staff are able to build good relationships with residents, and are seen as approachable and always willing to have a chat.
Hello. My name is Gill and I'm the General Manager here at Raleigh Manor. Welcome to our website.
I am a registered General Nurse and Registered Mental Nurse, I have spent many years managing care services, I have also worked within Provider Services for a Local Authority, run two rehabilitation units and been an area manager and a peripatetic manager, I am happiest managing a care home and building a strong team to enable our residents to lead fulfilling lives. I am very proud to have won the Dementia Care Manager of the Year award in 2020 – it was an interesting awards ceremony via zoom in the midst of the pandemic!
My husband and I spent 17 years living on a smallholding near Ludlow and moved to Devon at the end of 2021 with our two dogs, we are really enjoying exploring our new area and settling in.
Please call in and see us at Raleigh Manor, we would love to show you our beautiful home.
I am a City and Guilds qualified carpenter and joiner and I have over 25 years' knowledge of working in care home property maintenance. The environment here at Raleigh Manor is very special. The outlook from this wonderful property is spectacular and provides a refreshing place to work.
In my spare time I enjoy all sports, especially football and Rugby. I also enjoy playing Golf and darts with the Exmouth Darts League.
Kirstie joined Barchester as a carer in 2019, she quickly realised she had a passion for helping people live their best lives. In June 2022 after a move to Exmouth, Kirstie joined the team Raleigh Manor as a carer and enjoyed helping with the activities. When the role of Activities Coordinator became available, she jumped at the chance to combine her care background with her desire to truly enrich the lives of those in her care. Kirsty has a particular talent in finding out what truly inspires those in her care.
Jacky is the Admin Assistant here at Raleigh Manor. Jacky has worked for a number of years within the care sector. She enjoys interacting with the residents and seeing them happy. She is always happy to meet and greet and is always happy to help in any way she can. Her interests include gardening and enjoys walking her rescue staffy Mabel.
Born and raised in New Zealand I moved to Devon with my English partner to support the family. My career in the aged care industry started in New Zealand with Metlifecare, a very highly respected lifestyle and nursing care provider. As such a rewarding sector to work in, I am delighted to be able to continue on this side of the world with Barchester Healthcare, also an industry leader in care.
Outside work, my passion is four legged. Horses and dogs rule my world so again, Devon is proving the perfect place to be. Raleigh Manor is a 5 star facility in a superb location and I look forward to showing you around.
I have been in care since 2011. I began my journey working in a nursing home, then moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. I like to spend my spare time with my partner and his 8 year old daughter.
Skye started with Raleigh Manor as a carer and has quickly moved through to Deputy Manager. Her dedication to caring and for delivering an exceptional customer experience is a credit to her.
Nic is the perfect match for this highly demanding administration role. She has a wealth of administration in the healthcare sector and we are lucky to be able to utilise her skills here at Raleigh Manor.
Emily has been with the Barchester family as a carer for 14 years now. We are very lucky to have her as part of the Raleigh Manor team.
