Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Janet is an Exmouth local who, prior to joining Raleigh Manor, was working with a younger audience. She now her wealth of creative knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

A Gentlemen's Trip to the Pub

Our new Gentlemen's Club had a brilliant trip to the The Grove pub by the Exmouth seafront last week! A fantastic turnout, lovely company and wonderful atmosphere, it was great to see so many of our residents out enjoying some time together.

Resident's Wish Comes True

Resident, John, enjoyed a special outing this week as part of the home's wishing tree initiative. Residents are encouraged to place personal wishes on the wishing tree, which is on display in the café area of the care home, with the home selecting one from time to time to fulfil. A week before Valentine's Day, John shared his wish to take his wife, Liz, out for a meal.

The care home arranged transport in the home's minibus to Prezzo and, on their return, John surprised Liz with a gift of red roses, rounding off a memorable afternoon together.

Wrapped in Kindness

We are so grateful to Exmouth Yarn Bombers for their kind donation of two beautifully colourful, crocheted cosy blankets.

Handmade with care and full of character, these warm blankets will be cherished by our residents. Thank you for thinking of us and for sharing your wonderful talents so generously.

Bon Fire Night

Some great moments captured here as we celebrated bon fire night with sparklers and mulled wine. We had a spontaneous time with lots of smiles and laughter. Truly celebrating the sparkle in life.

Garden Centre Christmas Season

The Christmas season has started! We had a great trip out in the mini-bus to our local Kings Garden Centre. There is always so much to see and a great cafe too. This trip was extra special as all the Christmas decorations were our and some were larger than life!

Too soon? We don't think so!

Fluffy Visitor Brings Joy to Residents

Residents were delighted to receive cuddles from a very fluffy guinea pig recently. The small visitor made a big impact, helping bring joy, calm moments and gentle interaction to their day.

Research suggests animal visits can help lower blood pressure, encourage gentle movement and reduce stress. We are already looking forward to the next visit!

A Visit to Wesley's Community Café

It was a pleasure for our residents to pop into Wesley's Community Café in Budleigh recently for a coffee and a catch up. With great conversation and a very warm welcome, it made for the perfect little coffee break out in the community.

We captured a beautiful, calming moment between Senior Carer Haley and resident Marie, enjoying a peaceful break full of care and connection at the café.

Mince Pie Taste Challenge

The annual Mince Pie Taste Challenge is always a winner for those doing the tasting! But who was the winning baker(s) for 2025?

This is the second year in a row that our very own baking club have taken the title. Close second was THE KITCHEN, and third was Lidl Deluxe.

Congratulations to our baking club once again!

Budleigh Revisited

Thank you Budleigh Salterton!

A great visit on a brisk Autumn day. Many of our residents have called Budleigh Salterton home in the past and our visits are always fuelled by great conversations. We even met a few friends along the way!

Exmouth Museum Visit

A big thank you to the wonderful team at the Exmouth Museum who welcomed our residents with open arms today and showed them around this intriguing record of local history.
We stayed until closing time taking it all in. It brought back many great memories!

A Blooming Lovely Afternoon

Our home was filled with colour and sweet scent this week as residents enjoyed a lovely flower arranging session.

From choosing their favourite colour blooms to creating beautiful displays, it has been a wonderful opportunity to relax and be creative together one afternoon when the weather has been dreary outside.

Men's Breakfast Club

Thank you to our lovely friends at Launchpad at Wesley's for a fantastic start to our Men's Friday Breakfast Club. Great food cooked by wonderful people in a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

The Raleigh Manor Book Club set off for The Cuppa Cabin to gift some more books for their wonderful charity and to enjoy a fun outing to a very unique local treasure. Great coffee and scones too!

Finding Sanctuary

We are so lucky to have this fantastic facility on our doorstep.
The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is a wonderful place for our residents to go and be in the company of these wonderful creatures. A trip out that never fails to please.
