Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

The Mayor of Exmouth, Steve Gazzard visited Raleigh Manor on Christmas to wish all our residents, families and staff a wonderful Christmas. This was a lovely occasion for all and we have since received this message from the Mayor.

"Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Raleigh Manor for making me feel so welcome on my Christmas Day visit. It was a huge pleasure to be able to sit, talk and listen to all your various stories which I thoroughly enjoyed. May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very healthy new year."

The specialness of Christmas Day at Raleigh Manor was summed up beautifully by this message we received by a family member who was a part of it.

"It was truly a special day and I don’t think I have had such an amazing Christmas lunch. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail was much appreciated. Thank you to Raleigh Manor Care Home - Barchester Healthcare the chef, kitchen and all staff for giving us such a lovely day."

This week we were delighted to have the opportunity to host the hardworking Esteem Team at Raleigh Manor. Supporting our local community is very important to us and when Esteem were looking for a suitable venue for their support team to meet and to run their support courses, we said they were most welcome. We have lots of warm, friendly spaces to share with those who need it in our community so we look forward to seeing Esteem and other community groups making the most of our hospitality in the New Year. 

When it became difficult for our resident to continue to attend their usual Bridge sessions, we invited the Bridge team to come in to Raleigh Manor instead. Now everyone can continue to enjoy their passion for Bridge and we at Raleigh Manor have the pleasure of hosting them with endless cups of tea/coffee and cake.  There is no need to give up the things you love when you come into Raleigh Manor. 

On the 12th day of Christmas at Raleigh Manor, the Stringalongs, a local music group performed for us. With a full group of family and friends, the Christmas festive theme was strong and enjoyed by all. In true Barchester style, there was tea, coffee, cake and laughter in abundance. Thank you to Wendy who leads the talented group of musicians and who is keen to attend again.

The choir at local primary, Brixington Primary Academy joined the residents at local Exmouth care home, Raleigh Manor for their Lights On celebration to mark the beginning of Christmas festivities at the home.

Lights On, when Raleigh Manor turn the lights on the Christmas tree on is a traditional celebration that brings together residents, family, neighbours and staff. 

General Manager of Raleigh Manor, said “what better way to start the festive season than have the happy voices of the Brixington Primary Academy singing us Christmas Carols as we turn the lights on. The children brought a smile and the spirit of Christmas to everyone in the room.”
