Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Frankie Sidwick

Activities Lead

Frankie has been in care since 2011. Her career began in a nursing home, then she moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. Frankie now brings this wealth of knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Indulging in Past Passions

When one of our residents expressed her desire to be back with horses, her lifetime passion, the staff at Raleigh Manor made this happen. She had a wonderful afternoon, meeting and grooming and connecting with the lovely horses at Budleight Salterton Riding Centre.

Namaste

Namaste for those Living with Dementia

Raleigh Manor Care Home in Exmouth has recently appointed two Dementia Champions to bring specific focus to those in its home living with dementia. One of the specialist activities resulting in this appointment has been the adoption of Nasmaste care sessions. The sessions include a calming environment with soothing sensory influences for sight, sound, taste and feel. Hand and feet massages are given by the carers involved

Lyme Regis Revisited

Liz left her beloved home of Lyme Regis when she moved into Raleigh Manor. She wanted so much to go back and revisit her favourite place again so we put fuel in the van, packed a lunch and set off to put a big smile on her face.

It's moments like these that make life so special.

Amazing Maize Maze

What an AMAZING day out for our residents who tackled the Maze of Maize at Darts Farm!

On a perfect summers day we took a group to enjoy Darts Farm and the Maize Maze they have. With clues to collect and a great time to be had.

A bit of fun in the sunshine and no-one got lost!

RNLI Visit an Eyeopener

Our information based outings are always a winner with our residents. The local institution of the RNLI Exmouth was no exception. We were treated to a full tour of the facilities.

What an incredible operation we can all be very proud and very grateful for.

Raleigh Manor Ready to Race

Inspired by their recent Royal Ascot racing activity, local care home Raleigh Manor decided they wanted to have their own stable of horses for future racing events.

The Men’s Shed Exmouth who are just up the road from Raleigh Manor were commissioned to create the homes new steeds. Peter from the Men’s Shed delivered the horses to the home where the residents will now be tasked to paint them.
