Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Kirstie Cobb

Activities Lead

I joined Barchester as a carer in 2019, and quickly realised I had a passion for helping people live their best lives. In June 2022 after a move to Exmouth, I joined the team Raleigh Manor as a carer and enjoyed helping with the activities. When the role of Activities Coordinator became available, I jumped at the chance to combine my care background with my desire to truly enrich the lives of the residents in my care.

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Afternoon Stroll good for the Soul

A special outing for a special group of residents on another lovely summer afternoon at the Estuary. A little bit of bliss for everyone.

So Much To Do in Sidmouth

Our recent weekend trip out to Sidmouth was action packed! The lovely ladies from Raleigh Manor know how to shop! What a great seaside town this is with so much to see and do. And the fresh sea air is always good for the soul.

Horses with Names

In preparation for our very own Raleigh Race Day during Royal Ascot week, the residents were tasked with naming the horses.

Best Dressed for Royal Ascot

A full week of fun with Royal Ascot included fascinator making and a best dressed for Race Day competition. We felt the buzz of Race Day all week!

Seeking Sanctuary

Our trip out to the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary on a stunning summer day was sublime. The summer flowers, happy donkeys and good cafe offerings. What more could you ask for?!

International Museum Day

On International Museum Day, Peter Cowper from Exmouth Museum brought the Museum to us.

The theme was interesting items from the 1950s which sparked some in-depth conversations and exclamations of "oh yes!" amongst our residents. Of particular interest were the old coin collections and the police mans whistle.
