Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Frankie Sidwick

Activities Lead

Frankie has been in care since 2011. Her career began in a nursing home, then she moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. Frankie now brings this wealth of knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Celebrating Dogs!

Celebrating National Dog Day was so much fun! Our garden made the perfect setting for a dog agility demonstration. Thank you so much to the award winning talent Tail-Spin Training and Pawsitive Canine that came to show us their moves. It was brilliant.

International Cat Day

For International Cat Day, we invited rescue charity, Hectors House to bring some lovely young kittens in for us to cuddle and play with. Residents and staff alike enjoyed the opportunity to share some love with these sweet wee creatures. Check out the smiles! A big thank you to the volunteers from Hector's House, you made our day!

Sow and Grow Exmouth Project

Residents at Raleigh Manor care home in Exmouth were recently invited by Age UK Devon to attend their new ‘Sow and Grow’ project in Hamilton Lane.
The exciting project launched in April and aims to create opportunities for older people to use their gardening knowledge and skills, take part in regular activity and make new friends.

Young Talent Delights

A budding young performer and student from St John’s School in Sidmouth has been working on a project to provide something beneficial for the elderly. And benefit they did! With money she had fund raised for this project, Molly bought lots of treats for the residents. But the biggest treat of all was her singing to the residents, supported on keyboards by her music teacher, Louis Fitzhenry.

Ice-cream by the Sea

It's not just hay you make when the sun shines. It is also memories of eating ice-cream by the sea. One of many summer trips down to the Exmouth seafront enjoying the sunshine.

Summer Wedding Magic

When Saskia planned her wedding, she didn’t think her beloved Grandma, Jose would be able to attend. Jose, a resident at Raleigh Manor care home in Exmouth also didn’t think she was going to be able to be there when her Granddaughter got married. Knowing how important this occasion was for Jose, the staff at the home put together a plan to get Jose to the wedding.
