Activities at Paternoster House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Paternoster House Care Home

Music for Health
Our residents had a wonderful interactive Music for Health session with Anastasia Cole. We were pom-pom swirling (and wearing), quizzing and she had us up singing and dancing, it was definitely a fun packed session for all abilities.

Gentleman's Club
It's not just the 'ladies that lunch' at Paternoster House, our gentlemen also like a get together over afternoon tea, and as the weather was so good last Thursday they took to the garden for a catch up over board games in the sun and summer air.

Train Trip to Remember
Today's magical mystery tour took several pioneering Paternoster residents on a trip back in time via the Epping Ongar Railway
Our travellers boarded the train departing North Weald and journeyed onto Ongar before returning for a spot of lunch between train journeys. Then onto and through the picturesque countryside to Epping Forest returning to North Weald.
It was a truly memorable day, full of reminiscence, conversation and fun as the group enjoyed the many interactive experiences; on and off the train as they wondered around the historical pieces on the platforms and heritage museum’s including the super vintage London bus!

Beautiful Art Creations
What would you make from an unused surgical face mask, some modelling clay and a little imagination? Our residents got super creative and very arty using slices of the blue layer to make amazing flower pictures, and majestic swans with the white finished off with pastel feathers to really bring the birds to life. Well done ladies, they are good enough to be in a gallery.

Sweet Tweets
Our residents enjoyed the sweet tweets of these beautiful little creatures as the amazing Performing Pets brought in a basket of budgies!
Each one skipped onto our residents arms one by one and sat patiently waiting for kisses and gentle strokes. Several of our residents used to care for budgies in their younger days, the vibrant flutters of colour brought so many happy memories flooding back.
Thank you Performing Pets for another wonderful pet therapy session.

Open Day Entertainment
Regular exercise means so much to our residents and when Heidi McCaffrey joined us for our Open Day this Saturday we all knew that our fitness session would come with a whole load of friendship, and mountains of fun! Our residents enjoy a variety of life enrichment activities for their minds, body and soul on a daily basis.
