Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Hello, name is Ashley and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Paternoster House.

My aim is to ensure every resident is as happy and active as possible. We host a wide variety of activities and live entertainment including singers and bands, animal and music therapies, art sessions, gardening and outings to the local community.

I love getting to know new residents and their families and helping them to settle into life at Paternoster House.

Singing by heart

A Christmas Singalong special hosted by Major Sharon King from Waltham Abbey Salvation Army Church.

Today we held our monthly singing by heart dementia friendly choir group and were joined by Laura from Epping Forest Dementia Action Alliance. Everyone enjoyed a festive afternoon with a selection of traditional Christmas carols sang by all.

This group will run at Paternoster House on the first Monday of the month and is available to all, so why not pop down and join in the fun.

Food Bank

Here at Paternoster House, we know just how hard life could be right now for many individuals/families, therefore we thought we would try and do our bit for our community and start up a food bank.

All food will be donated to 3Food4U which is a fantastic food bank running in several areas within Essex.
