Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Hello, name is Ashley and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Paternoster House.

My aim is to ensure every resident is as happy and active as possible. We host a wide variety of activities and live entertainment including singers and bands, animal and music therapies, art sessions, gardening and outings to the local community.

I love getting to know new residents and their families and helping them to settle into life at Paternoster House.

Life at Paternoster House Care Home

Fun In The Sun

An ice cold beer in the sunshine with your friends, is there anything better in life?

Our residents have been soaking up the sun in our gardens and courtyards this week whilst enjoying cold drinks and ice-creams before heading back inside to watch one of our live music concerts or take part in some of the fantastic group activities.

We are looking forward to using our beautiful and extensive gardens more frequently as the weather improves.

Pets As Therapy

We have a new Pets As Therapy dog coming to visit.

Arthur is the newest therapy dog to visit Paternoster House and he was a huge hit with the residents! Arthur's wonderful nature and friendly smile saw him making friends all over the home. Animal therapy is one of the cornerstones of our life enrichment programme and we love our therapy dogs at Paternoster House.

Arthur will be visiting us regularly and he will always be welcome.

Goat Therapy

Performing Pets never fail to amuse and amaze us!

This visit the team from the animal therapy company brought us nothing less than Pygmy Goats to enjoy. The cute little pair were a lot of fun as they scampered around Paternoster House causing hilarity where ever they went.

We love our animal therapy sessions and we can't wait for the next visit.

Dance Academy Visit

We would like to say a very special thank you to Holly Tant and the talented young ladies from AIM Academy of Dance for their beautiful performances at Paternoster House over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Our residents and staff had a magical afternoon celebrating International Day Of Dance with the performers and we are looking forward to having the Academy back again soon.

National Gardening Day

Today was National Gardening Day and our green-fingered residents were keen to get stuck in with creating beautiful flower boxes.

The weather wasn't cooperating so we brought the garden inside for the residents, whilst our talented gardener carried on his great work outside.

Easter Bunny Mischief

The Easter Bunny visited Paternoster House and got up to all sorts of mischief.

As well as dropping off Easter Eggs and posing for photos, the Easter Bunny was causing naughty chaos throughout the home to the amusement of the residents. Our residents had a lot of laughs and enjoyed the Bunny's antics.
