Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Paternoster House Care Home

Music for health

An amazing music for health session this morning with Anastasia. Residents enjoyed a range of gentle exercises during this session to keep them fit and healthy. Exercise improves your strength, flexibility, and posture, which in turn can help with your balance and coordination, and reduce your risk of falls. Here at Paternoster House we try to keep our residents as mobile as possible.

Musical entertainment

This morning we danced and sang our Monday blues away with a fantastic performance from the one and only Robert Jerome. Robert had staff and residents up and grooving to some of the greatest hits of all time. What better way to start your week then to be having fun with friends laughing and enjoying yourself!

Sports day

Today we held our annual sports day in the lovely grounds of Paternoster House. Residents enjoyed watching our staff and families compete in a range of traditional sports day activities including an egg and spoon race, the 3 legged race, a relay and a very competitive tug of war. Everyone had an amazing day with loads of fun and laughter and our residents done a great job cheering on their team.

Mini bus trip

Today we jumped in our mini bus and headed out on a trip to the Clockhouse Nursery garden centre in Forty Hall. Residents and staff went to purchase some new flowers for our gardens and Steve our gardener gave our residents an educational talk on which flowers grow best at different times of the year. The trip was finished with a trip to a local coffee shop for a well-earned slice of cake and cup of tea.

Ice creams!

Ice creams were given out today as we try and beat the heat here at Paternoster House. Residents were given the choice of a range of different flavoured ice-creams with mint choc chip and raspberry ripple proving to be the top picks. What’s your favourite flavour ice-cream?

Sunshine nursery

A wonderful morning spent with the children of sunshine day nursery and pre school. Residents and children enjoyed a teddy bears' picnic to celebrate national picnic week. We also had a special surprise visit from a teddy bear herself provided by the amazing Matelu Mascots. Everyone had a fantastic morning full of laughter and fun and we look forward to seeing the children again very soon.
