Activities at Paternoster House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Hi my name is Angela, known as Angie, I joined Paternoster House in April 2016 as a care assistant, I have a passion for enriching our residents lives and being part of the Activities Team means I can help them achieve their dreams, keep them motivated and happy.

Dementia Action Week - Beach Holidays
Here at Paternoster House we’ve planned a variety of fun-filled activities for Dementia Action Week.
During the week, our residents will learn more about the importance and emotional benefits of singing, music and physical exercises through themed singalongs, gentle exercise sessions and live entertainment.
We started with week with an opportunity to get involved in reminiscing 'Beach Holidays' discussions through positive memories, tactile play, art and conversations about their childhoods and past holidays with their children.

Café Table Top Games
The Paternoster House Café is always a hub of activity. When fellow residents, and good friends get together for some old school tabletop games and jigsaw puzzles the conversation and competitive concentration flows!
Polish and Pampers
Who doesn't love a bit of pampering?
Angela has been an 'angel' this week, giving our beautiful ladies some lovely hand massages, manicures and polish of their choice.
German Shepard Puppy Power
Our residents were thrilled to meet the gorgeous; 'Jean and Jack' German Shepherd pups courtesy of Performing Pets this week. The pair were so well-behaved, full of wriggles and snuggles as they visited our residents in their rooms, and communal areas. Thank you Performing Pets for another wonderful Animal Therapy session.
