Activities at Parley Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Co-ordinator

I love being a friendly face for our residents.  A day in their lives should be filled with the care they deserve and enriched with activities.  We embrace each and every moment and make memories, I have many skills and a passion to provide our residents with the social interactions, lots of activities, smiles, laughter and fun.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Coffee Morning

Some of our ladies joined together this morning for what was going to be a game of scrabble but after chatting for half hour they decided to give up on the scrabble and just put the world to rights instead!

D Day 80th Anniversary

We had a wonderful afternoon yesterday commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the D Day Landings.

It was the perfect balance of remembrance and celebration, starting with a moving, poignant service from Reverend Booth from St Marks and All Saints West Parley through to entertainment by Nicole Young. Of course there was sandwiches, cakes and plenty of tea and coffee flowing!

With thanks also to West Parley Memorial Hall for helping on the day, we love working with you all and thank you for your continued support of our home.

Unusual Visitors

We had a visit this week from The Creature Teachers - who brought along some different animal for us to look at, talk about and to hold. We had a fabulous afternoon and really enjoyed the knowledge of the handlers - they made this into a very fun and interactive afternoon!

Walk 31 miles for Dementia UK

Residents and the team are taking on the walk 31 miles for Dementia UK challenge this May.  The challenge has the residents out in the garden adding their miles and the team completing some epic walks around the local Barchester homes. Our target was £500 and we have already exceeded this so thank you for all your support.
