Activities at Parley Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Co-ordinator

I love being a friendly face for our residents.  A day in their lives should be filled with the care they deserve and enriched with activities.  We embrace each and every moment and make memories, I have many skills and a passion to provide our residents with the social interactions, lots of activities, smiles, laughter and fun.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

National Teddy Bear Day

National Teddy Bear Day has been created so that we have a specific date whereby we can pay tribute to one of our favorite childhood toys so we embraced this here at Parley with our residents and staff bringing in their teddies. We all talked about the history of our bears and Sherry even dressed up as Barchy bear for the day!We learnt that June has a bear who is over 80 years old and she has a photo of her as a child with the bear, ted. She looks after him well and we were very grateful that she shared his story with us.

Trip to New Forest to see the Donkeys

It may not have been a beautiful sunny summers day but that didn't spoil our trip to the gorgeous New Forest. We stopped to say hello to some donkeys and enjoyed some delicious ice creams!

The New Forest is only a short drive from the home and is a favourite with our residents, some used to live there and many visited so it's a great chance for everyone to reminisce!
