Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Out & About

We went for a trip to our local M&S store, where we had a little nose around the shop and then went to their lovely café for a cuppa and cake.

,

Baking Bread

Our lovely Lifestyle Assistant, Sarah, did some bread making on 17th August with residents. They had lots of fun making the bread – their favourite part was when they got to eat it!

Clay Modelling

On the 31st August, Sarah the Lifestyle Assistant, and residents made some clay models; they really enjoyed getting their hands dirty and having fun. We then painted them on 5th September. We will be making some more soon, which residents are looking forward to doing.

Live Entertainment

Live Entertainment

On 4th September, we were joined by Ricky who came to perform for residents. Ricky visits every month to sing and play his guitar and always manages to make people laugh.

,

Sensory Dough

On 10th August, we made sensory dough with herbs that were grown from our garden. Residents really enjoyed making the dough, which then they could keep in their rooms to help them relax.

Baking Cupcakes

On 9th August, we had an afternoon of baking cupcakes and decorating them, which everyone had lots of fun doing, whilst singing along to music. Everyone enjoyed eating the finished products even more than baking them.
