Activities at Orchard House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Baking Afternoon

Baking Afternoon

On the 5th October, we spent the afternoon baking. As you can see from the pictures, we were baking pastries, which residents had lots fun choosing and putting on their ingredients. Of course, the best part was eating them!

Briddlesford Lodge Farm

On the 4th October, we took a trip to Briddlesford Lodge Farm in the afternoon and popped into the Bluebell Café to get a cuppa and a slice of cake, which were lovely! Residents really enjoyed their time out – there was lots of laughing, storytelling and jokes being told.

The Orchard Shop Trolley

The Orchard Shop Trolley

We provide a shop trolley that is taken round the the home every 2 weeks by Alex and Sarah. We offer toiletries, sweets, chocolate, cards and other items that residents may want.

The Silver Celebration

The Silver Celebration

On 14th September, we made stars out of our air dry clay for our Silver Celebration that is coming up soon. Residents had a lot of fun!

Keep Fit

Keep Fit

On 14th September, we had our lovely Suki in again, who provides a fun 'keep fit' afternoon and, as you can see from these pictures, the residents appeared to really enjoy themselves, with lots of laughter during the session. Everyone said they are looking forward to Suki coming back again.

Bob Entertains

Bob came to perform for all residents on the 14th August; he very kindly visits us as a volunteer to sing and play his guitar. He joins us every few months and residents are always very happy to see and hear him.
