Activities at Ochil Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Perth Mums & Babies

Perth Mums & Babies

Residents here at Ochil had a wonderful visit today from Perth Mums & Babies Group, trialling an idea entitled 'The Golden Years', which brings together different generations, with the purpose being to allow interaction in a natural, relaxed way.

Mums and residents chatted away and residents could play with toys and reads books to the little ones if they wanted to. This was a lovely experience for all involved!

Farewell, Tam!

Farewell, Tam!

Tam Kettles, Head of Maintenance, has retired after almost 10 years of service at Ochil.

Tam was a popular figure in the home, who worked extremely hard to keep the home, residents, visitors and fellow staff members safe.

A surprise party was held for Tam on Friday 20th July, where he was presented with cards and various gifts. A huge thank you to Tam for all of his hard work and support over the last 10 years.

We wish Tam a happy healthy retirement and a warm welcome to Eddie as our new Head of Maintenance

Body Boosting Bingo

Body Boosting Bingo

Here at Ochil, we are always to trying new activities, so with that in mind, we recently welcomed Yolanda and Jenny, Allied Health Professionals from Age Scotland, to deliver a session of their Body Boosting Bingo.

We brought together a group of residents of varying ability to take part in bingo with a twist. The sessions are aimed at improving muscle strength and balance, whilst at the same time providing a great chance to interact and have fun.

It was a resounding success and something we will incorporate in our programme again.
