Set in beautifully landscaped gardens, Ochil is a purpose built home in a beautiful residential setting in Perth, on the edge of the Highlands.

We provide first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in our dedicated Memory Lane Community.

Glendevon is a facility within Ochil offering support for younger adults with a physical disability where dignity and independence have top priority. Our accommodation in Glendevon has been created specifically for younger adults with complex needs who require therapy to improve quality of life and independence.

Hi, my name is Elizabeth, and I am the General Manager here at Ochil Care Home. I hope you find what you're looking for on our website!

I joined the team at Ochil on 13th June 2017 and have been a qualified general nurse for over 30 years. I have managed care homes for over a decade in Wales, England and now Scotland.

I completed the Registered Managers Award qualification in 2010 and also have a HABC Level 3 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace (Merit).

Although I haven’t quite travelled the world yet (!) I have enjoyed my 31 years as a Registered Nurse in London, Dundee, Brighton, Isle of Guernsey and Perth. I joined the team at Ochil in 2003, not intending to stay that long but I’m still here!!

I was promoted to Senior Nurse in August 2017 and look forward with optimism to leading a great team with new energy. A new chapter in promoting great care infused with lots of laughter!

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2010 and took up my first post in our Glendevon Unit, which specialises in care for younger physically disabled people, and have been here ever since! I have developed my nursing skills, which now include ventilation, tracheostomy care and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding. I was promoted to Senior Nurse in August 2017.

I returned to Perth in 2008, which is when I got my first job role in the care sector – a huge change for me! It was very challenging, but also very rewarding .

I took up my post at Ochil in November 2017 and aim to provide the highest standard of food for those we support.

Resident Ambassador

Alistair Brown has been at Ochil since April 2008. Alistair was a landscape gardener and has a vast knowledge of plants and flowers, so the maintenance team are always grateful for his advice!

As Resident Ambassador, Alistair attends resident meetings and is involved in recruitment. Alistair sits in on staff interviews with the General Manager and Deputy Manager and asks his own questions at the end.

Alistair also speaks with residents to ensure they are happy and completes meal time questionnaires with them.
