Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Meet Suki

We are all in love - meet Suki our new pet therapy dog. A Newfoundland and Standard Poodle Cross with such a silky coat she loves being brushed. Residents on Memory Lane really enjoyed grooming her and she also visited many residents in their rooms bringing so much joy. We are so fortunate to have such a special visitor - we can't wait to see you again Suki.

Christmas Icecream!

Residents enjoyed a trip out yesterday to one of our favourites Winstones Ice Cream Factory to try out their new Christmas flavours. Christmas pudding and chocolate fig were delicious - highly recommended. As ever we also enjoyed the views from Minchinhampton Common.

Moreton Hill Italian Days

Moreton Hill residents love Italian days and we havent had one since the summer. The pizza making was great fun and everyone was very generous with the toppings! The pizzas were cooked and accompanied by other Italian dishes created by Stuart and his team. After lunch Jackie held an Italian class, it was a day of laughs and excellent food.

Forest Green Rovers Community Programmes

Residents welcomed Forest Green Rovers Community Team to Moreton Hill. Sarah Urquhart, Head of FGR Community and Rob Many, Community Programmes Manager talked to residents about the work they do which falls under four categories; Environment and Sustainability, Sport and Recreation, Health and Wellbeing and Inclusion and Cohesion. Forest Green Rovers are the world's greenest football club and aim to be the most inclusive. All food served at the club is vegan they are certified carbon neutral. Forest Green Rovers Football Club is all about the community and we would like to thank the community team for visiting and all the positive work they do for the Nailsworth, Stroud and the whole area. We very much look forward to visiting the club next year.

Memory Lane New Additions

Moreton Hill really was a hive of activity yesterday. Darren and Damian have started to put up the Christmas lights, one row alone is 60 meters! With such old architecture and the stunning location Moreton Hill lends itself to Christmas so well we can't wait to show you the big reveal. Lorna is working on an ongoing project for the Memory Lane communities. The Memory Lane communities are for those living with dementia and are specially designed with zones and colours to assist residents as they move around the home. Lorna has created open frames for the seaside area with textured shells and these are now in situ for residents to enjoy and yesterday Lorna bought in a vintage dress mannequin and clothes to display. We also added more photos to our competition display in reception - voting is now open!
