Meet the Moreton Hill Care Home team
Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Hi, my name is Daney, and I am the General Manager here at Moreton Hill. Welcome to our website!
I am a registered general nurse with over 22 years of experience. I started working in management in 2016 and, prior to that, I had various positions in other residential, nursing and dementia care homes.
I heard about Barchester from one of my trustworthy friends. It was highly recommended to me as a great company to work for. I like to be part of a great team and be the instrument for making positive changes in care homes for both residents and staff.
As a young girl, I made the decision to leave my own country, which was my biggest challenge of my entire life, so I do understand the impact that big changes can have on people, such as moving into a care home.
I pride myself on my ability to listen, be compassionate and deliver person-centred care. I have achieved an NVQ Level 5 in Care & Leadership, and have previous experience in turning homes with low CQC ratings around.
I am a firm, fair and friendly person, who always likes to move forward. I am a strong believer in family and, in my spare time, my two boys keep me busy. I do enjoy travelling and baking as well. Before coming to this country, I worked on my parents' farm and helped them to run the family business.
With a strong clinical background, Lumi has worked at Moreton Hill for nearly 3 years, being promoted from Unit Lead to Deputy Manager in 2020. Lumi is committed to the well-being and happiness of the residents and loves working with the team here at Moreton Hill as they are respectful, professional and create a wonderful atmosphere. Lumi feels great pride when there is such positive feedback from residents and their families.
Bessy has worked at Moreton Hill Care Centre since 2010. As Unit Manager, she ensures that residents are provided with a high standard of care.
Flor has worked at Moreton Hill since 2000, we are very fortunate to have Flor's experience for over 20 years. Prior to arriving in the UK, she worked in a busy A&E in the Philippines.
Michelle came to the UK in 2005 from Guyana (only English speaking country in South America). Michelle qualified as a nurse in 1986 and has worked solely in the care environment working with residents with dementia and nursing needs. Michelle really enjoys working with the team here at Moreton Hill.
Jimson returned to Moreton Hill this year, having formally worked at the home for 10 years and very much feels like he has returned home. A nurse with 20 years experience, 18 of which has been in care homes, he very much enjoys working with older residents. Not only do we benefit from his experience as a nurse, he also enjoys spending time with the residents.
Simona joined the team at Moreton Hill in November 2019 as a newly qualified nurse, joining Barchester as a pre-registered nurse. Simona is really enjoying her time at Moreton Hill and the opportunity to learn so much from such an experienced team.
Becky has progressed with Barchester to the position of Care Practitioner. Having worked at another Barchester Home, Becky is now very much enjoying working with the residents at Moreton Hill.
Laura completed her nurse training in New Zealand, but has moved back to the UK to be closer to family. She is very much enjoying working at Moreton Hill and loves chatting with the residents to get to know them. Outside of work Laura loves the outdoors.
Tanya has worked in care for the past 14 years, joining Moreton Hill last year as a Team Leader. Tanya enjoys making a difference to the residents' lives and is committed to the importance of all aspects of care.
Jane has been part of the administration team at Moreton Hill since March 2020, having worked for many years in administration and accounts. Jane works supporting Daney and the team in the day-to-day running of the home.
Lorna joined Moreton Hill in 2021 as Activities Coordinator. Lorna worked in another local care home in the same role, so brings a wealth of experience and ideas. Lorna is experienced working with dementia residents and is committed to a person centred approach that is resident led. Lorna and Jackie together plan a varied and interesting programme of activities for the residents.
Jackie has worked at Moreton hill since 2013. Prior to coming to Moreton Hill, she worked for many years in marketing and communications in London and Bristol. Jackie has lived in Gloucestershire for 30 years and is involved with many local community groups and organisations. Community engagement is an important part of the work I do here to help enrich the lives of our residents. Jackie has recently decided to reduce her hours with Moreton Hill to spend more time on her interests outside of work.
Darren has worked in the construction and maintenance industry for over 20 years. A certified plumber with a wealth of experience, he maintains Barchester’s high standards of safety and security, ensuring the home runs smoothly. He enjoys working at Moreton Hill because it gives great job satisfaction. Every day is different and he loves talking to the residents, finding out about their life histories.
Sue has worked at Moreton Hill since January 2013 and along with her team is responsible for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness around the home and in-house laundry. Sue loves chatting to the residents as she goes around the home.
Moira is our resident ambassador for Moreton Hill. Moira is a fantastic poet and enjoys the wide range of activities at Moreton Hill Care Centre.
