Activities at Melbourn Springs Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

Singing and Dancing with the Banjo Man

We were very fortunate to be visited by our old favourite, the The Banjo Man.

He is one of our regular entertainers at Melbourn Springs and the residents absolutely love having a good sing-a-long and a dance to his excellent mix of old and new songs.

These afternoons are what makes Melbourn Springs such a special place and we cannot wait to do this again.

Life's a Picnic at Melbourn Springs

We have continued to make the most of the warm weather, this time with an impromptu Picnic Day in the grounds of the home.

The residents were invited to pull up a chair and enjoy a whole host of treats which were prepared courtesy of the team of chefs, whilst the rest of the team, led by Magda, were busy making sure of all of the residents were treated to table service.

Plates were filled to the brim with fresh bread, a selection of cheese and pate and pork pies, for the residents to enjoy al fresco. The fun didn’t stop there as some of the other delights on offer included refreshing juices and a variety of freshly baked cakes and pastries.

A day out in Duxford

We made the most of another glorious day yesterday by taking the residents out on the minibus for a lovely morning at the Duxford Community Centre where we had a little look around and then sat down for a well earned drink and snack.

The resident's love it when they get to visit new places and love being around new people.

Regular outings are just one aspect of our life enrichment program and all the trips we take are at the request of the residents. Our monthly activities calendar boasts a range of outings and entertainment.

Birthday Girls

We have been celebrating 2 very important birthdays at Melbourn Springs this week as our residents Marlene and Pat turned 88 and 84 respectively. They are both amazing ladies and we absolutely adore them.

We celebrate every day at Melbourn Springs but always look forward to sharing our residents birthday with them and will do all we can to make it a very special occasion.

The Olympic Sprit

We are excited to watch and follow this year’s Olympics in Paris.

To show our support for all the nations that participate and for Team GB, we decorated our home with special flags, banners and torches.

We’ve organised a series of activities, games, quizzes and themed events for our residents to enjoy during the games.

Everyone at the home has loved seeing all of our amazing Olympians progress.

At Melbourn Springs that's what we like to do - create memories, and ensure our residents are leading full enriched lives.

Games in the Sun

After waiting for what seems like an eternity, summer has finally arrived and the residents at Melbourn Springs couldn't be happier.

Yesterday we were able to spend most of day outside, relaxing in the shade and enjoying a nice refreshing drink whilst playing games.

Not long now until our big summer party!!!!
