Activities at Melbourn Springs Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

Life at Melbourn Springs Care Home

Thank you Chef
Yesterday we bid a very fond farewell to our amazing chef, Phil, who is sadly leaving Melbourn Springs.
We celebrated with with home-made cream tea, jam and scones and our resident Andrew played Phil some of his favourite music on the piano.
It has been an absolute pleasure having you with us Phil. We will miss you enormously and wish you all the very best in your new ventures.
Thank you Chef.

Sunday Sun
We made sure that the resident's did not miss out on some time in the sunshine yesterday.
We are very lucky to have amazing grounds at Melbourn Springs and our resident's simply love time in the garden. It is so good for the mind, body and soul.
After a walk round the garden and then some time spent keeping the flowers fresh it was time for a well earned drink and snack.

Andrew the Piano Man
We had an impromptu afternoon of music and dancing yesterday when Andrew decided that he wanted to treat us to his amazing talents on the keyboard.
As soon as the music started the ladies were up on their feet showing us their very best moves!!
These moments are always the best as it shows the residents living their lives to the fullest.
We love it!!!

Jenny's pamper time
Jenny loved having her nails treated and it was lovely to spend some quality 1 to 1 time with her.
Our Room Buddy activities are very successful activities at Melbourn Springs. The residents let us know of anything that they would like whether it be room improvements, hand care or zoom calls to friends and family.
Even if it is as simple as a cup of tea and somebody to have a chat with, our activities team always deliver.

It's a Kind of Magic
Our fabulous residents on Memory Lane have been enjoying spending time on our Magic Table.
For anybody who is not aware of what this is, the magic table is a series of interactive light projected games. Research has shown how effective interactive light care be in care home settings, and how beneficial it can be to residents’ well-being, especially those living with dementia.
The other benefits of the Magic Table include enhanced relationships between residents, an increase in physical, social and cognitive activity and a positive effect upon well-being by improving mood, reducing apathy and restlessness, as well as increasing engagement levels especially across the mid-to-late stages of dementia
We love seeing how the residents react to the Magic Table and we are always available to demonstrate how it works to our resident families and loved ones.

John's special day
It was celebration time at Melbourn Springs at the weekend as we celebrated John's Birthday with a special party.
John had a lovely time, along with his friends and family as we had live entertainment, music, games and the all important Birthday Cake.
Another great event at Melbourn Springs and we hope you had a great Birthday, John.
