Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

Activities Lead

Hello, My name is Anne and I am the Activities Lead here at Melbourn Springs.

I have a passion for elderly care, ensuring that all residents feel included and valued. Here at Melbourn Springs we strive to ensure our residents are always smiling, laughing and engaged in a wide variety of activities. I organise regular outdoor trips with our minibus, and we also have a variety of entertainers that visit our Home.

I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

Celebrating life at Melbourn Springs Care Home

Women's European Football Final Win 2025

The residents at Melbourn Springs were willing the England women's squad to win on penalties against Spain. Fortunately for them England won on penalties and were triumphant. Residents were in anguish throughout the match, but were then able to celebrate the night away along with the whole country.

A fantastic win for the England team, meaning they have now won this tournament an unprecedented two times!! Congratulations!! C'mon England!!

Gardening Club

At Melbourn Springs we know that being able to continue lifelong hobbies or interests is a key part of our resident's identities, and we make every effort to encourage and support each resident to be able to do so.

Residents love our gardening club and being in the outdoors with nature.

Shetland Pony Visit

Residents at Melbourn Springs love the animal therapy sessions that our dedicated Activities Team organise monthly. As one of the foundations of our Life Enrichment program, we know that animal therapy can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health.

Our residents had great fun feeding "Bertie" the Shetland Pony, and we cant wait for him to come back.

Melbourn Springs Fete

Some of our residents here at Melbourn Springs enjoyed an afternoon in the sunshine with a trip out to the Melbourn village fête. They took a look around the many stalls offering different things to buy & enjoyed looking at the old vintage cars on show.

Then sat down to enjoy a cold drink and an ice cream. A very enjoyable time had by all.

Jessie's 100th Birthday

Congratulations to our Jessie on her 100th birthday. She was joined by her ever-loving husband Maurice, close friends and family. They all enjoyed food, drink, a beautiful cake & spent the afternoon reminiscing of happy memories spent with Jessie over the years gone by.

Congratulations Jessie on your very special day, best wishes from all the staff here at Melbourn Springs.

Coton Orchard Garden Centre

We recently enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Coton orchard Garden centre. Residents leisurely looked around all the beautiful plants and flowers on show along with all the other lovely bits on offer.

Afterwards, we retired to the beautiful Café for tea & cake, which went down well. Afterwards, it was a nice, relaxed drive back to Melbourn Springs through the beautiful countryside. Perfect!

VE Day celebrations

Residents at Melbourn Springs had a great time celebrating the 80th Anniversary of VE day. They ate, drank, waved flags & sang along to the music from the day.

Everyone had a fantastic time & enjoyed telling us about their memories.

Morning Treat!

What a treat we had this morning! A big thank you to the Kitchen team for making this beautiful Charcuterie Board Our residents thoroughly enjoyed as did our visiting professionals this morning Anna from Royston Health Centre joined in with the rounds!

Magic Time!

We recently enjoyed a visit from Derek the Magician. He performed some amazing tricks & had residents and staff amazed as to how it was done. One of his tricks was passed onto him by his late good friend Paul daniels. Look forward to welcoming you back soon Derek with more tricks you have up your sleeve.Another great occasion at Melbourn Springs.
