Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Christmas Party

Staff got all dressed up for a day of Christmas fun and games with the residents. They spent the afternoon playing music, singing songs and just having a good old fashioned party.

Local School help decorate the tree

The children at Saltford school each made hand made decorations to help decorate the Christmas tree. They all came up with the idea to let the home know that the children were thinking of them. The residents really enjoyed receiving them and placing each one pride of place for everyone to see.

Beer & Pizza Day

The residents celebrated Beer & Pizza Day. The kitchen made some incredible pizzas and the activities team got the beers.

60th Anniversary

One of our residents celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary. He had a visit from his wife and daughter. Flowers were sourced from the local florist and the kitchen made an amazing cake.

The Fun Room

This room has been made by the activities team for our Memory Lane community. It is a walk in activities room and residents can interact with everything inside.

99th Birthday Celebrations

Elsie received lots of cards and gifts as the day came to celebrate her 99th birthday during lockdown.

Friends and staff made it the best day for her and opened the garden on Sunday for a special visit from her daughter and grandson.

Elsie also enjoyed a video call from her other daughter, a special cake and a celebratory tea with other residents. Lots of singing happy birthday went on all day from all the staff around the home, which Elsie enjoyed joining in with.

Elsie said she has had a lovely day, and enjoyed the homemade cake so much thath she wanted another slice.
