Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
George Tantrum
Hi, I am George and I am the Activities Lead here at Kingfisher Lodge. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years and I have a passion for enriching the lives of the people in our home. We offer a wide variety of life enrichment activities within our home, from minibus trips and group outings all the way to spending some one on one time with our residents. If you pop into the home, the chances is you’ll find me, so come say hello!
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Halloween at Kingfisher Lodge
Our residents have been busy helping decorate the home and pumpkins, ready for the local 'trick or treaters' to arrive. The residents and children all had such a great time!
Exercise Classes at Kingfisher Lodge
Residents have been getting very active here at Kingfisher Lodge and have been enjoying our new exercise class 3 times a week. After each class we all wind down with a nice cup of tea and a chat before we head to lunch.
Music for the Mind
Our residents were so pleased they could return to their fantastic Music for the Mind sessions. The amazing volunteers from both the local DAA and churches in Keynsham and Saltford come together to host this really fun packed morning. A lovely time was had by all.
Love is in the Air
To celebrate Valentine's Day in style, couples and family members enjoyed a special themed lunch together at the home. There were smiles and laughter, and everyone had a great time.
A beautiful bouquet was delivered to one of our carers as a surprise.
Christmas Wreath Making
We look forward to our yearly wreath making workshops here at Kingfisher Lodge, and as you can see our residents get very creative!
An amazing time was had by all, and we celebrated our successful wreath making with mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.
Crib Afternoon
Kingfisher Lodge and the activity team love their clubs. On this particular rainy September afternoon, out came the cards and the crib set for our gentleman’s afternoon. Crib and dominoes were played along with a beer and a lot of chat about the local football teams.
