Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Local Council help families stay connected

Kingfisher Lodge were so pleased to be one of the Care homes in the region to be awarded with a brand new iPad from Bath and North East Somerset Council. During the first lock down in March 2020, with residents not being able to see their families regularly. Staff realised that this is going to make a big impact on the well being of their residents. So they started video calls on a tablet they had, this was a great way to interact with missed loved ones. The new ipad has been a much welcomed addition to keeping families connected.

Donations from local Building Society

Kingfisher Lodge Care would like to say a massive thank you to The Coventry Building society and their customers in Keynsham high street. for their kind donations.

Julie and Vicky from the activity team at Kingfisher Lodge were overwhelmed  when they went to pick up the presents 4 days before Christmas, and cant thank the generous staff and local customers enough for the lovely gifts. There were bags full of goodies including, sweets, chocs, slippers, toiletries and lots more.

It was lovely to see all the residents faces when they opened the presents with staff on Christmas Day.

Residents at Kingfisher Lodge were treated to afternoon wreath making masterclass. What amazing creations they made. They helped with the foraging, designing, making and then hanging them around the home.

Elf Day

Never one to shy away from fund raising or a party. Staff and residents got into the spirit of Elf day this year. Some dressed up whilst others dressed them up. They had lots of fun all whilst raising money for the Alzheimer's society too.
