Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities Lead

Hi, I am George and I am the Activities Lead here at Kingfisher Lodge. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years and I have a passion for enriching the lives of the people in our home. We offer a wide variety of life enrichment activities within our home, from minibus trips and group outings all the way to spending some one on one time with our residents. If you pop into the home, the chances is you’ll find me, so come say hello!

Mothers Day Celebrations

Celebrations for everyone. Delivery of beautiful bouquets for all the ladies in the home. Special afternoon three course lunch prepared and served by the chef, complete with chocolates and fizz, Then an afternoon of music and laughter too.

,

World Book Day

We love to read here at Kingfisher Lodge and today we got dressed up for the occasion too. We read short stories of Roald Dahl and reminisced about childhoods gone by.

Spring has sprung

Spring was definitely in the air as we celebrated St David's day this year. There was Daffodil's for everyone. Afternoon tea and a quiz for us all to enjoy.

,

Virtual trip to the farm

When we cant get out to the farm we bring the farm to us. Great afternoon with a virtual visit to our local farm.We had a great insight as to a day in the life of a farmer. All from the comfort of our armchairs with a lovely hot cup of tea.

,

Abba Afternoon

What a wonderful afternoon we had. Dressing up and listening to all the fabulous tracks of Abba. Our residents were dancing in their seats. We look forward to the day we can have entertainers back into our home, however in the meantime we are doing pretty well getting our staff dressed up and playing the part.

,

Pamper Time

We understand the importance of being pampered and feeling special. So even when the hairdresser is unable to visit at the moment. All our staff make sure they step in and make a fuss of our residents.
