Activities at Kenwyn Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Time to pick a winner!

Today was the day that we collected our Easter colouring cards from 4 of Daisy Fays Nursery Nurseries.

Such lovely staff and children to have linked up with, we couldn’t have wished to meet a better bunch:

Daisy Fays Nursery

Daisy Fays Nursery Chiverton Cross

Daisy Fays Nursery Carnon Downs

Daisy Fays Nursery Tresillian

Daisy Fays Truro

With sparkle and bright colours, the cards will make a lovely treat from the children to our residents for Easter.

Back at Kenwyn, it was time to begin the enormously difficult task of picking a winner from each Nursery – although, as you can see, the effort from the children was fantastic.

To help us judge, we enlisted Rhona who is one of our much loved residents. Eventually, we were ready to decide the winners, which you are able to see – the four standing up.

Well done everyone involved and thank you.

Kenwyn's Easter Colouring Competition with 300 children!

Kenwyn's Homes Service's Advisor Adele Beaton hot footed it out into the Community yesterday, delivering specially designed Easter colouring cards for children.

We love the intergenerational theme here at Kenwyn and Daisy Fays Nursery have 4 lovely Nurseries, and were more than willing to take part, so we have linked up in a fun competition for the children.

The staff were lovely and welcoming and also love the idea of bridging the gap between generations.

Delivering 300 cards to the nurseries, we will collect next week.

Our lovely Kenwyn residents will be judging the best 3 from each Nursery.

There will of course be prizes for the children from our residents.

A very special visit from the Hugs Foundation

Thank you so much to Hazel, Charlie and of course Dude from the The Hugs Foundation for visiting us today at Kenwyn.

Dude is a truly special Pony. Everyone who met him loved him - and there were smiles all around Kenwyn.

Dude was stroked so much and found it so relaxing, he started to fall asleep.

Such a lovely day had by all. Thank you.

Kenwyn Bursts into Spring!

And just like that Kenwyn burst into Spring!

We love nothing more on days like this than to throw open our doors and head outside.

As always we all enjoy our well established gardens.

Kenwyn, in Truro is a beautiful spot, but we are sure you will agree that on days like this, our gardens have a tropical feel to them.
