Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Enjoying Spring around Hunter's Grounds

We are delighted to see the signs of spring and have enjoyed taking residents out in the sunshine over the past few days.  At Hunters we are so fortunate to have such extensive grounds and our woodland trail is designed so it is accessible for all our residents.

100K Dog Walk for Dementia UK

Willow, Donna and Anthony's 100k walk for Dementia UK is going really well and the sunny weather means they are walking even further.  Full details on how you can donate are on the Hunters Care Centre's Facebook page.

Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support with the Admiral Nurse Service.

Mindsong Music Afternoon

Hunter's residents enjoyed a joyous afternoon of music from Mindsong.  We are so grateful to Mindsong for continuing their music therapy for care homes virtually.  There are so many positive outcomes for residents with these sessions improving wellbeing, along with encouraging self expression and interaction.

Tour of the World

This afternoon Hunter's residents have been using Virtual Reality 360 to visit London, Australia and New York.  We also took a trip down memory lane to look at the Cotswold villages where many of the residents used to live.  As you can see Beryl greatly enjoyed taking a virtual tour around London.

Winter Walk

It was bracing but also so good to get outside for a walk around Hunter's stunning grounds in the crisp air.  A group of residents braved the low temperatures for a stroll around the home, all felt quite invigorated, but were very pleased to enjoyed a hot cup of tea afterwards!
