Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Trip to McDonalds

Trip to McDonalds

Resident, Betty, commented that she had never had a McDonalds cheeseburger, so our Activities Coordinator, Sharon, and our Administrator, Lindsey, organised a trip to the drive through!

Lindsey took us on a mystery tour whilst driving, with one of the other residents, Bill, navigating and reminiscing about all the places he could remember. We even did a drive by of where he used to live.

We finally arrived at McDonalds and we all tucked into a cheeseburger happy meal, with the exception of Bill, who went for the Big Mac and polished it off nicely.

Celebrating Audrey Hepburn's Birthday

Celebrating Audrey Hepburn's Birthday

We celebrated Audrey Hepburn's birthday here at Hilderstone Hall; one of the staff dressed up as the legendary actress herself, and was chauffeured around the car park in a soft-top car. The residents enjoyed tea & birthday cake in the afternoon as a celebration.

We had an afternoon of fun, games and, of course, wine in our Spode lounge.

Celebrating Nurses Day

Celebrating Nurses Day

Here at Hilderstone Hall, we like to make our nurses feel special - and that's exactly what we did on International Nurses' Day; each of our nurses received a travel mug and some extra-nice treatment as a way of saying thank you for all of the hard work that they do.

Dignity in Care Awards

Dignity in Care Awards

The general manager, Elaine and residential Care Manager Lynn, attended the Dignity in Care Awards at the County Showground in Staffordshire, where Lynn had been nominated for the Outstanding Example Award. Lynn made it through to the final but unfortunately didn't win on this occasion, but they both enjoyed a magnificent day whilst raising the profile of the home in the community.

Lynn is the winner and champion in the eyes of Hilderstone Hall. Well done Lynn!

Baking Afternoon

Baking Afternoon

The residents on our Memory Lane community  at Hilderstone Hall enjoyed an afternoon of baking whilst we all enjoyed the lovely results.
