Activities at Hethersett Hall Care Home

Activities, hobbies and interests make up the most important part of our days and who we are as people. We provide a varied activities programme that reflects the interests and capabilities of all the individuals we support. All of the group and individual activities are designed to not only mentally and physically stimulate the people we care for, but to enhance their life skills and feelings of purpose and self-worth. We achieve this through a constantly updated activities programme and one-to-one sessions with residents that are tailored to suit individuals needs. We also offer a range of outings in our mini-bus.

Caroline Evans

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I’m Caroline Evans and I’ve been at Hethersett Hall for 7 years now and been in the care sector for 13 years and believed it was time for a change in my career at Barchester.

I’m extremely motivated for my new role as activities coordinator. I hope I will bring joy and fun to everyone’s daily lives. I am a highly active and bubbly person. Looking after other people has always been my priority and I will do my best every day to make sure everyone is happy, safe and smiling.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you will all join in the events and activities that I will bring to Hethersett Hall.

Triple Century Celebrations

Celebrations have been in full swing at Hethersett Hall, as three of its residents reached their centenary in the same month.

The home liaised with residents’ families to arrange individual surprise birthday parties in the garden. All residents were joined by staff, relatives and friends as they received a telegram from the Queen in recognition of their landmark birthday.  Guests and residents enjoyed a personalised birthday celebration whilst soaking up the sun.

Cheers for Ladies Day

In celebration of Ladies Day, we treated our residents to a gin tasting session. We put together a drinks trolley with an array of different flavoured gins from Elderflower to Strawberry gin!

Everyone loved trying different brands and variations with the choice of lemonade or tonic water. A lovely afternoon was had by all!

Guitar in the Garden

What great weather we have been having recently, so much so that Peter, our Spanish guitarist, wanted to perform in the garden.

Our residents were more than happy to oblige and enjoyed sitting out under the shade of the veranda relaxing to the wonderful sounds of Spanish classical guitar.

Budding Artists

There has been such a wonderful atmosphere in our home this week as we welcome back many of our lovely entertainers and instructors.

Earlier this month, residents finally met their art teacher, Juli, for the first time after many lessons through Zoom.

Residents loved chatting with Juli and showing her their latest work as well as discussing future plans to display their amazing creations - watch this space!

Welcome Back!

As restrictions ease gradually, our residents are enjoying the return of many familiar faces.

Our lovely hairdresser has been working so hard to ensure all our residents' esteem needs are met, as well as our chiropodist.

Another visit was from Foteini, our art teacher! Our residents in Memory Lane were delighted to finally meet her in person, as opposed to through a screen. There was lots of dancing and smiling — and fantastic painting too, of course!

Sunshine & Jazz

On Wednesday 19th May, we had a live performance from the Norfolk and Norwich Festival Bandwagon. This fantastic group have been travelling around to various destinations, including care homes, to provide a socially-distanced Jazz performance. Staff and residents enjoyed a great afternoon together in the sunshine. A massive thank you to Norfolk & Norwich Festival for offering to visit us - our residents loved it!
