Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Day Trip to Dobbies

On Monday we took a trip to Dobbies Garden Centre Peterborough. The residents enjoyed walking around, viewing the clothes and the aquatic centre. And, as always there was time for coffee and cake!

Getting Creative with Pine Cones

We've been busy creating these great little pineapples out of pinecones and fuzzy-felt. They've definitely added a little summer sparkle to our sweetie stand.

Bingo!

On Sunday, to finish the week off, we had a big game of Bingo. The ladies had lots of fun playing, winning chocolate treats and enjoying a cuppa with their friends! Everyone's a winner at the Hampton Grove bingo hall.

Button Artistry

Our ladies arts & Crafts group had a go at making button collages earlier today. We drew some different pictures onto small canvases and let the group place and stick each button to make up the final picture. We are really happy to say that these will take pride and place on the wall in our sensory room. It was so much fun and the group had a real sense of achievement on completing their designs.

Messing with Tie-Dye Inks

This morning we got messy and tie dyed our own bags with the residents. We had loads of fun decorating the bags with ink. Then we also had a go with tie dyeing a big sheet to see if we could make patterns on it. Tomorrow we will wash them and let the residents see all their work.

Hampton Grove Summer Fete

What a day for a Summer Fete! The rain held off and we had a fun packed day.

We would like to say a massive Thank You to all the staff, volunteers and guests that made yesterday’s event so amazing. Everybody worked incredibly hard and brought so much joy to the home. Our residents enjoyed every moment and it was lovely to see so many join us from the local community. From face painting to ball games, bubbles and music, it was a great day.

Visitors were treated to a request show disco of tunes courtesy of DJ Mick Flood and a live performance from upcoming young singing star; Thea Watson (Maddison Skies) who delighted us with some old-time classics for our residents and guests to singalong and dance too.

Our fundraisers, including raffle and 'name the clown' raised £300.70 towards the resident’s sensory room build. Thank you to everyone who joined in, we're really looking forward to the next event.
