Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Lisa May

Activities Coordinator

I started working for Barchester in October 2020. The team here at Hampton Grove have made me feel welcome. No day is ever the same here.

My varied daily activities and events help to create a stimulating engagement programme to enhance the quality of life for each resident within the home.

Sunflower Planting

The Hampton Grove gardens are going to look sunny and bright once these sunflower seedlings have grown. Our residents had a lovely time planting them.

Pizza Making

This morning our residents decided to make their own pizza for afternoon tea. Their creations included fresh tomatoes, ham, pepperoni and lashings of mozzarella cheese!

Day Trip to Sacrewell Farm

This week we took an afternoon trip to Sacrewell Heritage Farm and Country Centre in Peterborough. The weather was lovely so the residents enjoyed a picnic together before going to see all the animals. Our residents loved seeing all the different animals at the farm, particularly the horses, sheep and pigs. A friendly peacock took particular interest in one of our residents, we think her skirt matched the peacocks’ plumage well.

International Friendship Day

"I get by with a little help from my friends." John Lennon. On International Frienship Day our residents gathered together to make their own bracelets, and some from their family and friends.

Crafts, Bubbles and Giggles

We had lots of fun on Tuesday, painting sun catcher’s and dancing around a lounge full of bubble and balloons.

Virtual Headset Adventures

The residents on memory lane all got to have a go at trying our Virtual reality (VR) headsets. These are amazing machines that link to mobile technology allowing our residents to explore different countries and experiences, today they virtually snorkelled the Great Barrier Reef. It was amazing to hear, and see them each reaching out to touch the passing fish!
