Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Hello my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.
I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.
By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Elm Bank Care Home
Crochet Club
Our residents enjoyed knitting and crocheting in our new Thursday morning club. We had fresh tea and coffee made for us as we enjoyed chats and laughs from the past.
Garden Visits
Residents enjoyed the coronavirus restrictions being eased with two garden parties. Residents loved seeing family and friends for a long overdue catch-up, whilst enjoying fresh tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes made by our wonderful kitchen team.
School Jokes
Our residents really enjoyed laughing at the school jokes from pupils from our local Morrison’s donations cards.
Indoor Gardening
Our residents have enjoyed planting seed donations from Morrison’s to spruce up our gardens this spring.
Garden Visits
With summer approaching, our residents are taking full advantage of the sunshine as the weather warms up. All communities enjoyed being in the sun with a cup of tea and sing-a-long with our activities team.
St Patrick's Day
At Elm Bank, we all raised our glasses to help celebrate this year’s St Patrick’s Day!
Across all communities, residents entered our St Patrick’s colouring competition in the morning and our lucky winners received prizes! After lunch we all raised our glasses with some Guinness and a movie night.
Upcoming events
Monthly Community Café
Come along to our dementia friendly café 'Third Monday each month' from 2.30pm-4.00pm, meet with friends, enjoy light refreshments and a variety of activities.
Community Games Afternoon
We're welcoming our local community, families, and friends for a lovely weekly get-together.Join us every Thursday from 2-3.30pm for board games, floor games, and more!
Blue Light Breakfast
If you are part of the Emergency Services please drop by and have breakfast on us. The last Friday of the month 07.30am to 11.00am.
