Activities at Elm Bank Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Tina Prosho

Activities Lead

Hello my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.

I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.

By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Elm Bank Care Home

Pumpkins and flowers

Elm Bank residents used their creative skills to make our home look beautiful and festive with some Halloween flower arrangements.

Little visitors with pumpkins and cards

Residents at Elm Bank enjoyed a visit by local children from Railway Children Nursery. They brought decorated pumpkins and beautiful handmade cards. We all enjoyed looking at the pictures and designs the children made.

Jess reaches for the sky

General Manager, Jessica Pateman, reached for the skies when she did a skydive which raised £405 for Cransley Hospice in Kettering. Residents and staff of Elm Bank Care Home were all very proud of her achievement, and pleased that she had such a beautiful day to enjoy the local views.

Pride in our diversity

Elm Bank care home was delighted to support Northampton Pride Festival last weekend. Elm Bank Manager, Jess, and colleagues, held a stall promoting Barchester’s person-centred approach to meeting the diverse support needs of people in later life. It was a fun and busy day on Northampton Market Square with food, games, music and lots of colour.

A word search to keep us thinking

At Elm Bank we enjoy a variety of word and number puzzles, as well as quizzes, to keep our brains active. A word search helps maintain verbal reasoning skills, and provides a bit of quiet time too.
