Activities at Crandon Springs Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Katherine Cork

Activities Assistant

Hello, my name is Kath and I’m the Activities Assistant here at Crandon Springs.

As part of the Activities and lifestyle enrichment team, I help in organising our daily activities, ensuring that all of our residents have a variety of activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives by providing meaningful and engaging activities and, having been both a teacher and care assistant in the past, have a wealth of experience behind me. You'll rarely find me without a smile and I'm very family orientated, and I love how both the residents' and colleagues Crandon Springs feel like a second family to me!

Virtual Concert for Wells Community

Crandon Springs wanted to give a sense of normality back to our local community, in doing this we hosted a virtual concert with local Wells band The Portraits!   Thank you so much for everyone who attended the evening, all 40 of you in total! We hope it gave you an accurate reflection of the life enriching activities our residents will be involved in but also resembles how committed we are to supporting local businesses and bands.   Thankyou so much for attending and of course, to The Portraits!

International Women's Day

The 8th of March celebrates International Women's Day. Marked annually International Women's Day is one of the most important days to celebrate women's achievements and raise awareness about women's equality.   To celebrate at Crandon Springs all of our colleagues here are wearing purple ribbons with pride. The purple ribbons represent the suffragette movement. "Purple, as everyone knows is the royal colour, it stands for the royal blood that flows in the veins of every suffragette, the instinct of freedom and dignity…" Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence, editor of Votes for Women.   We will wear our ribbons with pride.

Bespoke Visitation Suite

Are you considering care for a loved one or yourself but concerned of not being able to see friends and family?   Or, is your family member in an existing care home where visits are restricted?   Here at Crandon Springs our home has had a bespoke visitation suite installed within our residents home. Family and friends can enter the visitation suite via an external door, the suites include an intercom system, television, refreshments and pre-prepared cakes and biscuits from our hospitality team.   As a luxury new build home our occupancy will steadily grow, meaning our capacity of residents allow daily visits for loved residents.   Our home is set to open in April 2021 so we are adamant our visitations with family and friends will be enjoyed in the sunshine within our landscaped gardens, however we like to offer options.
