Alexandria Bowman

General Manager

Hello. My name is Alexandria. I am the General Manager here at Crandon Springs and I look forward to welcoming you into our home!

I have worked in the health care sector for 10 years and have a passion for celebrating life to the fullest.

With a background in nursing home care and older persons mental health, I have experienced the benefits of person centred care that focusses on our individualities and ensuring our families and friends are part of the community.

I joined Barchester in September 2022 and have spent time supporting a variety of settings across the south of England.

I always look forward to welcoming new residents and visitors into our lovely home. So please stop by for a cup of tea and some freshly baked cake.

Sophie Hoskins

Hello, welcome to our website. My name is Sophie and I am proud to say I am a Senior Carer and  a Care Community Lead at Crandon Springs. 

I joined the team at the first opportunity as a Care Assistant in early 2021 and quickly progressed up to Senior Carer. 

I will be here to support all of our residents and relations.

As Crandon Springs Home Service Advisor, my role is to work alongside the home’s exceptional team by supporting potential residents and their families when considering care options at our home. 

I’m here to answer all your questions and support you through your decision making journey when seeking the perfect home and to make it as easy, stress free and comfortable as possible. At Barchester, we are proud to offer a home that provides bespoke care, companionship, security and life enriching experiences whilst enabling the retention of independence and individuality.

I have a long career that centres around client relationships and community engagement, making the role of Home Services advisor the perfect fit and I consider myself very fortunate to be part of a team that works so hard to deliver warm and compassionate care in a luxurious setting where residents thrive and enjoy life!

I previously ran my own property maintenance company for many years and, after relocating, have joined Crandon Springs Care Home. It really is a stunning home with lovely residents and staff and I work hard to maintain its high standards, everyday.

Hello, my name is Louise and I am proud to introduce myself as the Head Housekeeper here at Crandon Springs Care Home.

I have worked within the hospitality industry for the last 10 years and have found a passion for housekeeping. I understand the urgency and importance of my role whilst maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and standards throughout the home.

I love my role, it gives me a real sense of satisfaction and pride. Alongside my career, I am extremely passionate about supporting and volunteering at The German Shepard Rescue Centres locally.

Charlotte Compton

Hi, my name is Charlotte. I am the Admin Assistant here at Crandon Springs. I joined the busy administration team here once I returned from maternity leave, after having my beautiful daughter. Although you'll usually find me as the friendly face at reception, you may see me locally representing my local skittles team or performing at the Carnival, where I have been both a club and committee member for over 10 years. Some of our residents often remind me of the time they watched me perform whilst dressed as a pumpkin!

Hi, my name is Tracey and I'm one of the senior carers here at Crandon Springs. 

I have been in the care industry for 10 years now I'm passionate about offering person centred care and knowing that I have made a difference. I’ve met some really interesting people throughout my career, and think life history plays such a vital part in someone’s care. Outside of work, you will mostly find me out walking my four legged fur babies Scooby and Brambles across the Mendip Hills. In fact, every year I enter the Mendip Challenge in aid of Weston Hospice, which is a 20 mile hike over the Mendips and usually takes around 8 hours!

Hello! My name is Tanya. I am a Care Assistant here at Crandon Springs and I am very proud to say that I have worked for Barchester for many years, having previously worked for another of our residential nursing homes before relocating to Wells. I feel so lucky to be able to say that I work in such a beautiful setting with an outstanding team. When I am not working, I enjoy walking and love to take advantage of the wonderful local countryside, smelling Lily of the Valley with it's beautiful bell-shaped white flowers.

I'm Lisa, I have lived in Somerset all my life, grew up on a farm with my parents and two siblings. I qualified as a teacher and have worked in education and the early years for many years before deciding to settle down and have a family. I have four children and we enjoy being outdoors and going to the beach. I can be found in my spare time out in the garden with my flowers and vegetables. I have worked at Crandon Springs for over a year now and thoroughly enjoy the experience I have had in adult care and look forward to every new day with the residents.

Hello, my name is Kath and I’m the Activities Assistant here at Crandon Springs.

As part of the Activities and lifestyle enrichment team, I help in organising our daily activities, ensuring that all of our residents have a variety of activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives by providing meaningful and engaging activities and, having been both a teacher and care assistant in the past, have a wealth of experience behind me. You'll rarely find me without a smile and I'm very family orientated, and I love how both the residents' and colleagues Crandon Springs feel like a second family to me!

Hello, my name is Peter and I am a volunteer here at Crandon Springs!

I am a retired Vice President of a large telecommunications company and have since lived in the Caribbean for many years. I love spending time with all of our residents, we have coffee mornings together, history sessions and musical therapy!
