Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Live Nativity Scenes in our Garden's

Last week the residents and staff enjoyed the living nativity from Miller's Ark. We were very fortunate that the rain held off and we were able to spend a great afternoon together. Several residents said it had made their day, which is wonderful to hear. Also a big shout out to the lovely Esme from Miller's Ark who was so friendly and informative  and helped to make the event so special

Book Club

The book club that one of our wonderful residents Val started last month is going really well. The book that Val has been reading during November is ' The Children of the New Forest'. by Fredrick Maryatt.  Val says that running  the book club and reading aloud has made a real difference to her personally and she has noticed the benefits.  She is really enjoying offering this club and hope it enriches the lives of the community she lives in. It would be great if you fancy reading it and letting us know what you thought. We know Val would loves this!

Corrina Lodge collectsbottle tops for Charity

Resident Chairman Mark Girdler asked the Corrina Lodge Community to start collecting milk bottle tops. Everyone is now getting into the habit of saving them and we have our first full bag ready to drop off. The recycled milk bottle tops are being collected for #chilternairambulance. It has certainly encouraged discussions about recycling and what more we could be doing as a community.

Two Fantastic Men, remembering with our Camberley Community

Residents at Corrina Lodge have been busy getting creative using recycled bottles and creating poppies for a challenge set up by local church High Cross. Rev Mike asked everyone in the community to turn Camberley red this November and we wanted to play our part. The finished tribute looked brilliant and was a real team effort. Manager Dumitru Varzaru also visited High Cross Church on Remembrance Sunday to deliver a poppy wreath from the  Corrina Lodge Community and it was very gratefully received. Corrina’s links with the Community continue to grow and certainly enhance the lives of our residents.

Baking tastey Treats

Baking is a regular activity at Corrina and residents enjoy spending time together chatting and creating tasty treats. These delicious ginger nut biscuits were a great success and certainly tasted as good as they look.
