Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Camberley Canines - our first Dog Show

Staff and Residents really enjoyed meeting all the wonderful dogs and their humans at our the Corrina Dog show. We had some super friendly dogs entered on the day and our wonderful judge definitely had a difficult time choosing the winners. The residents gave her a helping hand though.

Stone Art

Our forthcoming visit from the Mayoress was the inspiration for some stone painting in our arts and crafts session this week. Our lady Mayoress is due to visit Corrina Lodge on 11th September for an afternoon tea with our residents and staff.  Some of our residents are busy making a gift for our fabulous Mayoress.

Emma Easy Entertainment

A huge thank you to the lovely Emma Baldwin who sang for us at Corrina Lodge in August. Emma sang a great selection of  songs and residents were all keen to know when we'd be seeing her again.  Sunshine, pimms and music. A perfect afternoon for all

Ally bearing gifts

A massive thank you to Tesco's at the Meadows Centre for sending along the very lovely Ally Watson - Tesco's Community Champion,  bearing gifts for residents and staff.  Ally, seen in the picture below with Sharon,  our Life Enrichment lead is known to us at Corrina Lodge as she also made 160 'scrub bags' for our staff to carry their uniforms throughout lockdown. How lucky are we to have friends like Tesco's and Ally

U3A Ukulele Band visits and entertains

We were joined by U3A Ukulele Band in our lovely gardens. Residents enjoyed listening to a great selection of music including, Abba, George Fornby, Status Quo and lots more. Lots of toe tapping and singing along.

Fundraising for The Hope Hub

Residents and staff at the home put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ by pledging to cycle 120miles to raise funds for The Hope Hub a charity based in Camberley which is working to prevent and end homelessness in Surrey Heath Borough and surrounding areas.

Dumitru Varzaru, our General Manager at Corrina Lodge said: “We love to fundraise for charities throughout the year, we pick different causes to support that have been selected by staff, residents and friends of the home. The Hope Hub is a great cause that helps many people in need. We feel really proud to have been able to a brilliant £422.00 for this fantastic charity. A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated!

The Hope Hub supports people who are 18+ providing 1:1 support for homeless people and those at risk of becoming homeless, are unemployed, in debt and/or struggling with mental health and/or addition(s).www.thehopehub.org.uk
