Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Jubilee Celebrations

We had such a wonderful time at our Jubilee Celebrations and enjoyed a delicious spread prepared by our amazing chef Kathleen. Guests were welcomed by our manager Dumitru who really got into the spirit of the celebrations and greeted guests dressed as a Beefeater Royal Palace Guard. We were also joined by the very talented U3A Ukulele Band. Residents, their family and friends said they had had an absolute blast.

A visit from Madam Mayor in International Nurses Day

The Corrina Lodge Community were so pleased to welcome Surrey Heath Mayor to their home as part of the International Nurses Day Celebrations. Corrina Lodge has an amazing team of nurses and we wanted to say thank you for all their hard work and dedication to our community.

Three of our wonderful residents have also been dedicated nurses and it was great to hear their stories.

Madam Mayor presented gifts to everyone including our fantastic manager Dumitru, who is also a registered nurse.

We also took this opportunity to plant a tree as part of the Queens Green Canopy initiative to mark the Platinum Jubilee 2022. The initiative invites people across the UK to plant a tree and we chose a Spring Cherry.

We finished the day with some delicious treats served by our wonderful chefs Kathleen and Marcin.

The day was absolutely fantastic and enjoyed by all.

93 Years Young

Here at Corrina Lodge we feel all birthdays are special.  We love to help our residents celebrate.  Our head chef Kathleen Foster always makes the most amazing cake and the rest of our staff just love to spoil the birthday resident.

Lovely Betty enjoyed a special birthday lunch today with her sons. It is absolutely wonderful to see families spending time together again. Happy Birthday Betty 93yrs young!

Cinco de Mayo

We’ve had so much fun celebrating Cinco de Mayo. Traditionally celebrated on 5th May, which commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

We’ve donned sombreros and ponchos and enjoyed some Mexican cuisine, virtual tours of Mexico, danced to traditional Mexican music and of course shaking those maracas

Easter Fun

Easter Celebrations at Corrina Lodge have been in full swing.

There have been Easter Gardens Created, a wonderful Egg Hunt for residents, families, friends and the local community and of course hot cross buns and lots of delicious chocolate.

It was absolutely wonderful opening our doors to the community again for the egg hunt, the sun shone and residents and visitors had an eggcellent time!

Hero's

Each month our Resident Chairman hosts a monthly residents meeting, which gives our wonderful Corrina Community a chance to come together to discuss ideas and suggestions.

One of the lovely incentives they have come up with is to have a hero of the month. The residents  choose a team member that they feel has gone that extra mile to enhance their lives.

Team members are always incredibly proud to receive this award. Pictured is Sandip our maintenance manager and Laxmi a carer receiving their ‘Hero of the month award'. Wonderful!
