Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home

A fabulous Trip out to Marks and Spencer

We had a lovely outing today and visited Marks and Spencer to enjoy a coffee and browse. One of our wonderful residents had some very special news recently and was celebrating the arrival of her very beautiful new baby great grandaughter. We all thoroughly enjoyed helping her look for a special gift to welcome her to the world

Fireworks Fun

Residents celebrated Guy Fawkes Night in splendour over the weekend. They created some brilliant works of art, a great sensory experience involving lots of glitter and sparkle. They then enjoyed a heartwarming gathering around the fire pit with hot dogs and marshmallows, and of course no Bonfire night would be complete without sparklers. A great time had by all

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

We had a really enjoyable and successful Macmillan Coffee afternoon. The Corrina Community came together for this very worthy cause. We invited the Community to bring their canine friends to join us too and had a lovely visitor called’ Star’ who residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting. A huge thank you to everyone who supported our event. We raised a brilliant £60!

Celebrating Our Wonderful Team

Residents have enjoyed being part of recognising some of the amazing staff who are part of the Corrina Lodge Community. Residents choose Members of the team they feel have gone that extra mile to support and enhance their wellbeing. This month they chose Gina and Rosie who are two  of our amazing activity assistants, Amanda who is our fabulous receptionist and fantastic head chef Kathleen. Residents choose their heroes each month at our Resident Committee Meetings and staff really do find it an honour to receive one of these resident awards.

Volunteer Visitors

We were joined by an absolutely lovely group of volunteers from GROHE Limited. We had a brilliant morning doing some indoor gardening and preparing Tete a Tete bulbs in decorated pots for residents to enjoy on their window sills in the spring. They also kindly painted some of our garden tables and chairs and we're not defeated by the rain working in between the showers.

Sports Day

We had a fabulous Corrina Lodge Sports day. The inclusive sports day brought together residents, staff, family and friends and  was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. There was lots of fun, laughter and of course ice creams. We have a selection of  varied exercise and wellbeing sessions at Corrina which are very well attended. So it was really lovely to get outside together and make the most of the beautiful sunny weather.
