Activities at Canmore Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a variety of events as well as offering tailored programmes to stimulate residents both mentally and physically. There are regular outings in the minibus to local places of interest, such as trips to the beach for ice cream, pub visits for a pint, and regular trips to Dobbies for tea and cakes. Georgie Girl, an old English sheep dog, also stops by the home on regular basis for pet therapy. Musical entertainment is a big hit with residents as well, so we book fan favourites to come and play at the home each month. At Canmore, relatives are always encouraged to join in on the fun too.

Life at Canmore Lodge Care Home

Pittincrieff Park

Pittincrieff Park

We went on a trip to Pittincrieff Park, known locally at 'The Glen'. It was a beautiful sunny day and we stopped at the Peacock Café for drinks and giant scone – yummy!

Open Day

Canmore Lodge's open day was a great success!

We had a raffle that friends and family kindly donated prizes for. Tea and coffee were on offer, but thanks to the wonderful weather, juice was the main choice of our guests. There was also a lovely selection of cakes.

We had an hour long singing performance from the local theatre group, Limelight Productions, that performed some of the most popular musical theatre numbers and classic Disney songs.

Residents had a fantastic day and really enjoyed the singing. Our raffle raised a whopping £193 for the home.

Thank you to all who visited on the day!

Café Lunch

Café Lunch

Due to weather conditions, our trip had to be redirected to a local café inside Pitencrieff Park, but that didn't stop residents and staff members from having a great time.

Pizza Cake!

Pizza Cake!

A few residents made pizza in recognition of National Pizza day. Residents shared the pizza with everyone and enjoyed a nice cup of tea on the side.

Tartan Warriors

Activities Coordinator, Tracy Feeley, and her daughter, Ciara, entered into the Tartan Warrior 5K obstacle course to raise money for activities resources in the home.

They were sponsored by friends and family members, in addition to staff and relatives from the home.

They completed the course on Sunday 11th March and had a great time. The muddy course consisted of 20+ obstacles, including climbing frames, balance beams and even underwater sections.

So far they have raised just over £100 and are still getting donations for their efforts.
