Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Life at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

National Cupcake Day

National Cupcake Day

We celebrated National Cupcake Day by decorating our own cupcakes with the residents of Beeston View. We used sprinkles, icing, marshmallows and fruit to decorate them with and residents were able to choose how they decorated their own, and then they got to eat them!

Getting Creative

Getting Creative

We continue to hold regular painting sessions with Beeston View residents; they are a great way for them to express themselves and to feel a sense of achievement.

Chocolate Tasting

Chocolate Tasting

We did a session of chocolate tasting at Beeston View recently – and it went down a treat! Everyone enjoyed sampling the different flavours of chocolate, which included chilli, cherry, lime, marzipan, coconut, blood orange, raspberry and honey. It was an activity that everyone could join in with and talk about, so it was a huge success.

Pizza Fun

We have been trying some new food-themed activities with residents at Beeston View. Recently, we made some pizzas with them, which went down really well. They were able to choose their own toppings and get creative. Once the pizzas were made, we cooked them in the oven in the main kitchen and had a tasting session when they were done. They were delicious!

Falling with Style

Senior Activities Coordinator, Lynne Loughlin, did a skydive on 10th June to raise money for residents at Beeston View and Iddenshall Hall. It was a beautiful day and the jump was absolutely incredible.

Thank you to everyone who supported her with kind donations – it was worth it!

Eyes Down!

We are continuing our regular bingo sessions at Beeston View, and the residents from Iddenshall Hall are still coming across to join us too. It is proving to be a popular afternoon and the staff are joining in and playing with us. We will continue this activity throughout the summer.
