Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Meeting Santa

Meeting Santa

As always, Santa came to visit the residents at Beeston View to make sure that they all had a gift and a card. They loved seeing him and many of them tried to guess who was behind the beard.

We want to say a massive thank you to George, who comes to us every year to make sure residents get to see Father Christmas.

Keeping Fit

Keeping Fit

Our friend Andy from Ride joined us again to host some exercise sessions in December. He always does one class at Iddenshall Hall and then another at Beeston View, so all residents have the opportunity to join in with his enthusiastic activities. Andy is always a big hit with the ladies!

The Decibellas

The Decibellas

We had another visit from our local Choir group, The Decibellas, recently, who performed Christmas songs for residents. As always, the performance moved some people to tears, and it was very special.

Residents always enjoy their visits and the singing was exceptional. It is a shame they are so busy, as we only get to see them on special occasions, but we will definitely be having them back to perform in the New Year.

Saturday Salon

We had the first session of our new 'Saturday Salon'. We will be open most Saturdays from now on so that residents can enjoy a proper salon experience. Residents' loved ones can also take advantage of this for a small donation towards the residents' fund. It has been an enjoyable and successful first day in the Salon.

Aqua Painting

Aqua painting is always a popular activity here at Beeston View, as it is something that anybody can do, and it provides residents with a sense of achievement when they see the finished product.
