Lucy Wilkinson

Activities Coordinator

Lucy started work with us here at Beeston View on 6th March 2018. She came to us from a background working in the entertainment industry, which she did for 4 years prior. She used to make bookings for corporate events, weddings and special occasions.

Lucy has also spent time working at Chester Zoo as a photographer, where she took pictures of the visitors there. She is used to working with a diverse range of people and has always wanted to work within a care home setting as an Activities Coordinator, so this is an extremely exciting time for her.

Lucy also has lots of musical talent; she plays the ukulele, the guitar and can sing as well.

You will recognise Lucy if you visit us, as she is the one with the bright orange hair!

Lynne Loughlin

Senior Activities Coordinator

I started my career with Barchester as a Carer, with 5 years experience in the care sector previously. I have also achieved an NVQ in Hospitality and, in April of 2014, I assumed the role of Senior Activities Coordinator at this home.

We all know that keeping active is important and that's why my team and I are here – to ensure that residents experience an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. The home has its own minibus for our numerous trips out to various local places of interest.

My aim is to make sure there is something for everyone here; I create a monthly schedule that is packed with many different types of activities, from musical entertainment to sensory stimulation and much more.

I am focused on building up our volunteer base, including family members and students from the local school. Each volunteer will receive a warm welcome to our Barchester family. We are building relationships with our local communities and integrating them into our home as well.

We are trying to educate people about dementia by raising awareness within the community. We already have relationships with the local Beaver Scout Group and primary schools, in addition to other organisations.

I am proud to work for Barchester and to be a part of a very important service.

Chris

Head Gardener

Chris is our Head Gardener, he has been with us since August 2010.

Chris worked in a Bank for 15 yrs, ending up as Bank Manager in Commercial Underwriting. He always had a passion for Gardening and Landscape design, entering local charity fundraising garden events in Malpas with his own garden. When Chris took early retirement from the bank he used his time to fulfil his passion at home. When this position became available here he sent in photos of his own garden and this helped to get him his current role. He has found his niche in life. He sees his role as being able to create a suitable and fulfilling environment for the residents to enjoy in their later years of their lives.

Chris won Winter Barchester in Bloom in 2010 and was presented his award by Charlie Dimmock. He was also a finalist in 2013

Erica Clark

Unit Manager

I joined Barchester in 2011 as a Senior Carer and 12 months later was promoted to my current position of Unit Manager on the Residential Dementia Care Unit at Beeston View.

Prior to joining Barchester Healthcare I worked in a unit for children with learning difficulties, before joining a team working as a carer in the community for 5 years.

What I enjoy most about working here is the different challenges that you face each day, no two days are ever the same! Working in the field of dementia is a challenge, but helping residents to settle into their new home and helping to meet their ever changing needs makes it all worth while.
