Activities at Badgeworth Court Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators provide a stimulating social programme to suit residents' individual tastes and desires, and offer group or one-to-one activities based on individual preferences. We are a dedicated team that always ensures residents have enough to do to keep them stimulated and entertained. There are regular trips out on the minibus to nearby places of interest, and exercise classes to suit people of all capabilities, in addition to much, much more.

Puzzle Club

Puzzle Club

One of the newest additions to the activity calendar here at Badgeworth Court is our Puzzle Club. Residents love doing jigsaw puzzles and requested a chance to sit with staff to do them with a cup of tea and a biscuit. We enjoy doing lots of different puzzles and some residents love to challenge themselves with extra difficult puzzles.

Blankets and Twiddle mitts

Blankets and Twiddle mitts

We have been very lucky here at Badgeworth Court to have been donated some beautiful handmade blankets, fiddle muffs and cushions. These were all made by the Young Women’s group at Gloucester’s Church of Latter Day Saints. These will brighten up the communal areas of our home and provide sensory comfort and stimulation for our residents.

Church service

Church service

One of our regular events on the activities calendar here at Badgeworth court is the 'Badgeworth praise' event with the local parish church. This is popular with the residents and involves singing some favorite hymns, a bible reading and a short talk. This session was extra special as we celebrated Christmas by hearing the nativity story

Pate's school visit

Pate's school visit

Our residents were invited to visit the year 8 students at Pate's school for their "Christmas in the community" event. from the moment they arrived they were spoilt with homemade mince pies and cups of tea. The talented students put on a Christmas showcase of carols, dances and musical performances. To top off a lovely afternoon all the residents were given a Christmas present as they left.

PC Farah comes to visit

PC Farah comes to visit

PC Farah had caught wind of the wonderful work we have been doing for the elderly residents living in our local community and wanted to stop by to say hello to the staff and residents at Badgeworth Court. She was extremely impressed with the home and has agreed to come to deliver a talk about her role in the community at one of our weekly Wednesday tea parties. We let her know that she is always welcome to stop by for fresh cakes and a coffee whenever she has the time. We look forward to seeing her again soon!

Victorian Christmas market

We all wrapped up warm to head over to the Victorian Christmas market at Gloucester docks. The sounds and smells were fantastic! The residents enjoyed tasting all of the food samples on the way around. Each stall holder was extremely pleased to see us and treated our residents like celebrities, posing for photographs and chatting (in character) about Victorian life. We were given some beautiful hot chestnuts from a kind-hearted stall holder and the residents enjoyed tasting a myriad of different flavors of Turkish delight.  We sat watching the children on the outdoor ice-rink as we sipped on beautiful hot cappuccinos. A fabulous day was had by all!
