Activities at Ashlar House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Ukulele Group

Ukulele Group

We invited a local ukulele group to the home recently. A few of our early risers attended the site, which was a nice change of scenery that delivered a morning lift to all attended.

Keeping Fit

Keeping Fit

We've started doing some more physical activities here at Ashlar that are designed to increase hand-eye coordination and overall fitness, with an added bonus of just having fun. First up was netball, followed by skittles, and everyone had lots of fun.

Prayers & Communion

Prayers & Communion

St John Church visits Ashlar House to deliver their monthly Prayers & Communion service, which takes place in our lounge. They also visit less mobile residents in their rooms if they are unable to attend the service.

Knitting Club

Knitting Club

Some residents enjoy participating in our knitting club. This rewarding project doesn't just result in a new sweater or scarf, it reduces depression and anxiety, and improves cognitive and social skills.

National Gardening Week

The theme of National Gardening Week is to rediscover a passion for plants. We were in full swing planting and decorating, ready to display our plants around the garden. Residents smelled, touched and talked about their own garden and favourite plants. Everyone had a great time!

Royal Celebrations

The home was filled with joy and laughter as we celebrated the royal wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. Personalised hats were worn and plenty of refreshments were available for our guests.
