Leonard Lodge Care Home
Leonard Lodge Care Home in Brentwood
Our purpose-built nursing home is located on the Hutton Poplars, towards the outskirts of Brentwood. Shenfield High Street is within walking distance. It has a numbers of shops and eateries and also the mainline train station. We are lucky enough to be in a lovely quiet area backing onto woodlands. The site where our home is located was originally a Dr Barnardos children’s home, built in 1906. A small area of the children’s home has been preserved in its original form and can be seen as you drive onto the estate.
We have a long-standing and dedicated team who strive to provide the best quality care for residents, including respite care. Our registered nurses are at the home twenty four hours a day to ensure the development of a tailor-made care plan for every individual’s needs.
Our Memory Lane Community is dedicated to dementia care, enabling every resident to thrive in an environment designed to stimulate and enrich their lives whilst giving families peace of mind and security. Our person-centred team is experienced in responding to the challenges that dementia presents, at whichever stage of the journey. The Community is located on the ground floor and benefits from a beautiful and easily accessible courtyard garden.
We are always happy to meet with you and offer a guided tour of our facilities and grounds. Why not drop in for a cup of coffee and see for yourself?
Types of care
The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.

Tibi Ionescu
I am the General Manager of Leonard Lodge Care Home since I joined Barchester Healthcare in September 2015.
I trained as a Registered Nurse and Social Worker in Romania and I have worked in the care sector since 1991. In 2004 I moved to the United Kingdom and since I have worked in a variety of health and social care settings. I have enjoyed a successful career to date and I have had the opportunity to lead and inspire large nursing teams to provide outstanding customer care for individuals suffering with Dementia, Stroke, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, End of Life, Brain injuries, Spinal injuries, and Young Physical Disability.
Based on my knowledge and expertise, as a General Manager, together with my team, my role is to ensure that we will continue to improve the service we offer to our residents, delivering high quality individualized care and striving for excellence.
