Camellia House Care Home in Ware
Camellia House Care Home, in Ware, Hertfordshire, is centrally located near to all the area’s amenities, including relaxing river walks, shops, and the train station. You’ll find us near to Chadwell Springs Golf Club, south of the River Lea. With 48 bedrooms offering residential and nursing care, we think carefully about the type of room each resident needs.
Our bedrooms are set across two floors, and on the ground floor you’ll find a television lounge, quiet lounge and spacious conservatory, meaning peace and tranquillity is never far away. All furnishings and decor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard. We also have half an acre of beautiful gardens with an aviary and fish pond.
We care for the residents like our own family members, and we do it from the heart. It’s almost like a sixth sense: people who are always on hand to help, but with enough empathy to know when to leave you be; people who don’t have favourites, and who are always busy creating the little moments of kindness that make a real difference to life here.
Activities vary each week: from cake baking and cocktail evenings, to bowls club and shopping trips. And everything’s flexible – if it’s sunny we try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day. We’ve built excellent links to the community, allowing residents to continue their lives outside the home with ease. Every month we have an organised outing for the residents which could be anything from a pub lunch to a visit to the local donkey sanctuary where we sponsor one of the donkeys. There’s a monthly entertainer who comes into the home too.
Home cooked food using fresh produce is served on a daily basis and special dietary requirements can always be catered for. Of course, when, where and who you eat with is entirely up to you – be it your room, the dining room or the conservatory. Friends and family can join you as often as you’d like (at a small charge) and our extras menu gives you the option to order snacks at any time of the day.

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.
Hi, my name is Ranjit, and I am General Manager here at Camellia House. Welcome to our website!
I have worked within the care sector since 2012 and I am very passionate about my role and responsibilities. Right from the beginning, I knew that this was where I belonged.
Over the years, I have completed an array of training and qualifications up to and including National Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management within Health and Social Care. I am continually looking for ways I can improve my knowledge, skills and my own personal development so that I can move up the ladder within the sector and within Barchester.
I joined Barchester in 2019 as the General Manager of Camellia House, and I have really enjoyed getting to know the company, the care home, the staff, the residents, their families and friends.
I aim to ensure, as a team, that we continue to deliver a high standard of person-centred care to those we support, placing them at the heart of everything we do and meeting individual needs with the passion and commitment they deserve.
I am very proud of everything I have achieved, but one of my greatest accomplishments is changing my previous home's CQC rating from 'Inadequate' to 'Requires Improvement' as an overall rating but with gaining 3 Good’s and 2 Requires Improvement within 7 months of commencing my employment.
I feel honoured to have spent my entire career doing what I love the most and feel that there is nothing more rewarding than going home at the end of the day knowing you have made a difference to a person’s life.Get in touch Meet my team
