Activities at Ashford House Care Home

Here at Ashford House we try to aim to cater to everyone’s hobbies and preferences, nothing is impossible! All our activities are designed to empower our residents helping them complete meaningful activities that stimulate them mentally, physically and emotionally. As well as sticking to 'mainstream' activities that you would normally find in this kind of environment, we aim to step outside the box with our provision. We think this is the best way of creating person-centred activities, as each plan is uniquely crafted around each individual, who are treated with respect and dignity in their choices and supported to take control of how they spend their time.

Sheeba Khan

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Sheeba, and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Ashford House.

Having a degree in Fine-Arts and a creative background enables me to plan person-centred activities according to the personalities and tastes of our residents here at Ashford House. I believe and work towards making a positive difference to their day to day life and I can honestly say this is one of the most rewarding jobs. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Ashford House.

We can bring the Sunrise to our Residents

When you can not go to see the sunrise, the sunrise will come to you   Here at Ashford House we are lucky enough to have a Magic 360 table from Social Ability.    One of the fantastic thing's about our magic table is that it is mobile, so we can take it into the bedrooms of our residents and we can project all sorts of scenes  onto the walls, ceiling, floor and best of all their bedsheets.   The Magic table is a series of interactive light projected games that research has shown are consistently able to have a positive effect on those living with dementia  through the early, mid and later stages of the condition,  through sensory stimulation, relaxation and reminiscence

Christmas Day Ashford House

We had a wonderful day at the home on Christmas Day! Everyone was bursting with Christmas spirit as the staff made the day as special as possible our residents. Father Christmas even made an appearance!

Ashford House came a very respectable second in the Big Barchester Quiz

Ashford House took part in the all Barchester homes quiz and came very close to the top position. We are extremely happy to have scored a 2nd ranking as it is a huge improvement from last year. The residents and staff equally enjoyed the live event and we are so proud of our pace within a very competitive team.

Cycling Tour For Charities

Wayne Hughes, Regional Director of Barchester Healthcare’s London Region, led a team of care home workers from his division on a cycling tour around 10 Barchester care homes to raise money for two worthy charities - Barchester’s Charitable Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support. They stopped at each of the 10 care homes in their region to meet well-wishers and to be cheered on in their endeavors. The tour started at 6.30am at Magnolia House in Hampstead and finished at 5.30pm at Ashford House in Stanwell via Islington, Wembley, Bushey, Chalfont St Peter, Harrow and Chorleywood.
