Activities at Ashford House Care Home

Here at Ashford House we try to aim to cater to everyone’s hobbies and preferences, nothing is impossible! All our activities are designed to empower our residents helping them complete meaningful activities that stimulate them mentally, physically and emotionally. As well as sticking to 'mainstream' activities that you would normally find in this kind of environment, we aim to step outside the box with our provision. We think this is the best way of creating person-centred activities, as each plan is uniquely crafted around each individual, who are treated with respect and dignity in their choices and supported to take control of how they spend their time.

Sheeba Khan

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Sheeba, and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Ashford House.

Having a degree in Fine-Arts and a creative background enables me to plan person-centred activities according to the personalities and tastes of our residents here at Ashford House. I believe and work towards making a positive difference to their day to day life and I can honestly say this is one of the most rewarding jobs. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Ashford House.

Intergenerational carols

This week at Ashford House we had the absolute pleasure of listening to the year 6 pupils from Town Farm Primary School and Nursery singing Christmas carols to our residents from the garden. It was a joy to listen to and all the children were so lovely, they really brightened our day. We also enjoyed hot chocolate and mince pies. And a huge thank you for all our gifts, cards and mince pies, our residents loved them.

Wayne Hughes our Regional Director'sCharity Bike Ride

Team members and staff at Ashford House were proud to welcome Wayne Hughes, Regional Director of Barchester Healthcare who led a team of carehome workers from his division on a cycling tour around 10 Barchester care homes to raise money for two worthy charities - Barchester’s Charitable Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support. The atmosphere was both electric and emotional as they completed their ride at Ashford House.

The sensational Salvation Army visits Ashford House

This week at Ashford House the wonderful Salvation Army band braved the cold to come and play for our residents, who absolutely loved them. There is no better way to start the festive season

Competition Time

We are extremely lucky here at Ashford House to have a fantastic chef team who deliver outstanding restaurant style dining every day and serve high tea every afternoon for our residents. We would like to give our local community the opportunity to have such luxury during these times too and are offering a delivered High Tea box to the lucky winner and their nominated recipient too.
